Rucha Shrotriya - Crowned second runner-up at Miss Teen India GA - 2008
Rucha Shrotriya was crowned as the second runner-up in the Miss Teen India GA pageant held in Atlanta on Saturday, July 19th.
Rucha went through 3 intial rounds before she got selected amongst the top 5 contestants. The first round was catwalk in evening gown followed by a talent test, and the last round was catwalk in an Indian Sari. In the talent round, Rucha sang "Maiyya Maiyya" from the movie Guru. The beautiful rendition of this song matched with a pleasant performance, helped place her amongst the top 5 contestants.
In the Judge's question round, she was asked a tough question: "What do you think about the Indian-American community here and who's your role model in this community and why?" Her to-the-point answer was received with a huge round of applause.
Later in the evening, Rucha was announced as the second runner-up in the
competition. We all are very proud of her achievement and would like to congratulate her and wish her success for future pageants.
Rucha is daughter of Mr Sunil & Mrs. Meenal Shrotriya who live in Alpharetta.

Dohaa (Dark Waters) directed by Mr. Pushkaraj Paranjpe has been nominated in 3 categories (Best Film, Best Director and Best Female Debut) at the 45th Maharashtra State Film Awards to be held on 29th April in Aurangabad.
MMA on behalf of its members extends Heartiest Congratulations to Pushkaraj.
This is a great achievement, especially this being his first feature film !!!
We wish Pushkaraj good luck at the awards ceremony and for all his future projects.
Update: Dohaa (Dark Waters) received the Jury Award for Best International Feature at the Jacksonville International Film festival in Florida (USA).
It has also been invited to the Boston and Cape Cod International Film Festivals.
Puskaraj by profession is an architect and lives in Roswell with his wife Anupama and daughter Kimaya.
